Information Delivery

Overview

Many aspects of organisations' service delivery can be presented with online information systems, often containing spatially referenced information.

Our user-friendly Geographic Enquiry and Display Interface (GEDI) software is a low cost, modular geographic data delivery suite with a wide range of data management benefits. Using GEDI, it is possible to quickly build powerful, yet easy-to-use information systems to support your organisations' service delivery. This is because GEDI consists of a series of web-based components that can be combined into specific solutions to meet your particular requirements.

In addition to these components we provide high quality consultancy services to aid and support organisations with their data management needs.

Introducing GEDI

GEDI helps users answer a range of questions including "How is the data changing over time?", "What is my area like?" and "Where is my nearest ...?". Read more about how the GEDI data structure supports these questions in the GEDI data cube PowerPoint document (about 1mb).

Our GEDI software was designed following an extensive consultation process with users and clients. We continue to work closely with our customers to modify the systems capabilities in order to meet their ongoing needs.

The images above show just a few examples of GEDI's functionality. Have a look at the GEDI (www.GEDI.org.uk) demonstration, read more about GEDI or one of our case studies to see how these tools work and can be combined together to produce effective solutions to your business needs.

Key Benefits

The increase of freely available national statistics as well as the increasing demand for locally collected statistical data has led to a need to invest in ways to store, access and view the data available for your areas of concern, and a web-based information system such as GEDI is an ideal platform to support this. In addition, organisations are increasingly interested in monitoring changes in this information, both spatially and over time and GEDI includes sophisticated tools for analysing and visualising such trends.

When implemented in your organisation, GEDI will provide a platform to help encourage data sharing, detailed target performance monitoring, evidence based decision-making and access to services. GEDI systems are of benefit to many differerent user groups including your customers, employees or the general public and are equally capable of being used in intranet or internet contexts.

Many key issues faced by todays organisations are complex, interconnected problems that require multi-agency partnership solutions. Our GEDI systems have been specifically developed to improve and enable spatial data sharing in this context.

Specifically, our GEDI systems enable:

  • More effective and accessible intelligence provision
  • Improved analytical and spatial data visualisation capabilities
  • Enables data to be collected once and then reused many times, reducing the risk of repeating data collection and management errors
  • Preservation and enhancement of knowledge
  • Recognition of your spatial data holdings as a financial asset
  • Improvements in the quality of information

Our Services

We provide the following supporting services to help customers get the most out of their investment in GEDI:

  • Hosting and Maintenance of your system
  • Data sourcing and Consultancy
  • System Training
  • Geocoding services to increase the value of your service information
  • Data Aggregation to support the minimum confidentiality requirements of your information
