Overview

We offer the following geographic information creation, management, visualisation and analysis products:

GEDI

Our user-friendly Geographic Enquiry and Display Interface (GEDI) software is a low cost, modular geographic data delivery suite with a wide range of data management benefits.

GEDI can be used to quickly build powerful, yet easy-to-use online information systems, often containing spatially referenced information. We offer a wide range of supporting services, including the hosting of such systems and the maintenance of the data within them or we can simply provide you with the necessary software and help to build and maintain your information system independently.

Address Quality Audits - AQuA

Many organisations use information that is related to addresses or postcodes. Often the quality of this information leaves a lot to be desired, resulting in lost time and wasted resources for the organisations concerned.

Manchester Geomatics' AQuA - Address Quality Audit service is particularly useful for improving and measuring the quality of address lists. We will soon be launching an online version of this, where organisations can upload lists of addresses and postcodes and validate these automatically.

Audits can be conducted incrementally, perhaps every six months or quarter year, to ensure that your addressing information remains as accurate and up-to-date as possible.

We currently conduct these audits as services; for more details please read about our information location services and our address audits in particular.

Geocoding Tool

Our online geocoding tool helps you to add a spatial reference or location to your address and postcode information. Address lists can be uploaded to our server. These addresses are then geocoded and when complete, the data provider will be notified by email, with a link to download their spatially referenced data. Read more about our geocoding.

We also conduct geocoding as a service, which includes an additional step, whereby we manually geocode more difficult addresses. This is especially useful where the quality of the addresses provided is poor. For more detail please read about our information location services.

Data Aggregation and Re-aggregation

Many organisations now need to report performance targets for specific areas or neighbourhoods. However, it is often difficult relating information from one type of geography, such as ward or output areas to the specific areas that you are interested in.

Our online data aggregation tool helps you to aggregate or re-aggregate your data to your specified geographical level. Changing the geographical level of your data can dramatically alter and improve subsequent visualisation and interpretation.

Manchester Geomatics have developed unique algorithms that enable spatially referenced information to be recombined, even if the geographical units do not exactly nest within each other. Together with the geocoding tool, it is possible to arregate detailed address or postcode level information to virtually any other geography.

For more information, read our data aggregation pages. We also provide this as a service as well and for more detail please read about our information location services.

Local Land and Property Gazetteer maintenance

Our LLPG maintenance software is a powerful web-based tool to manage your land and property gazetteer. As well as standard textual checks, it contains a detailed address data structure, very suitable for matching different sources of addresses together. Also, it contains mapping functionality similar to our GEDI data visualisation software.

It enables you to manage and syncronise your addresses with the National Land and Property Gazetteer (NLPG) hub and will soon support the new BS7666:2006 standard.
